  • For the second year in a row, the Young Adult literature is in the spotlight at the Paris Book Fair.
    Two spaces will be dedicated to it: the Young Adult and the Bookroom.

    • Pop lit When young adult (YA) literature paints a portrait of a generation. Four subjects and four meetings with authors and specialists, based around works tackling a phenomenon in society which is emblematic of the YA generation.

    • A reader's journey A meeting with an iconic figure for the YA generation, who may also invite an author of their choice. They will revisit their teenage reading and reflect on how it influences their work today.

    • Off piste YA literature is becoming increasingly experimental and crossing over into new disciplines. Unpick the secrets of success during three discussions based around artistic adaptations of major works of YA literature (cinema, TV series, video games, comics, etc.) from the last few years.

    • Leading lights The major trends and unmissable themes of YA literature in 2018/2019.

    • Star guest Get to know one of the great names of YA literature through their work and career path.

    • Tête-à-tête A YA author invites a mainstream author to examine the connections between these two genres and the unique and very distinctive quality of YA writing and literature.

    • Making waves Three debates involving authors, publishers, booksellers, readers, high school students, BookTubers, etc., about works with divisive or disturbing subjects or styles.

    • Live lit Performances and musical readings from YA literature.

      In 2019 the bookroom becomes an interactive literary space, giving the audience greater access to authors and their works.
    • Photobooth The perfect place to document your visit to Livre Paris on social media.

    • Transmission A meeting between an author and young writers who can ask as many questions as they like about creating literature and writing.

    • Get on air! Come and shoot your first ever BookTube video with the help of experts who will enjoy answering all your questions!

    • The little bookshop The little bookshop is a discussion space where a specialist YA bookseller or a genre specialist — a BookTuber or a blogger, for example — considers readers’ tastes and points them towards new reading material.
    • First-timers 3 reader encounters with 3 first-time novelists (whose opening pages they will have read), together with their publishers. These sessions reveal all the various back and forth reading and discussion stages, leading to the publication of a first book.

    • Brainstorm Lacking confidence? Not making progress? Come and discuss your project with other creative people and a publisher to give it a new lease of life.

  • Lucie Kosmala - Young Adult stage

    When asked “what would you like to do for a living?”, Lucie Kosmala has only ever had one answer: “to work on projects that excite me”. She has been able to do so in bookshops, in publishing, for a society magazine for 18- to 25-year-olds, for France Inter, and even as a DJ! Today, she works for herself, bringing her energy, eclecticism and ideas to the promotion of literature for young people, with a particular interest in new media.
