Main Stage

  • Main stage

  • The Main stage, formerly Literary stage, will host, throughout these 4 days of event, more than sixty French and international authors, but also researchers, historians, philosophers, comic book authors ... who, each on their own way, arise as observers and witnesses of their time.

    Nine "shows" daily will offer you a rich and varied career of encounters with texts and authors:

    • The Act of writing, a series of in-depth interviews with leading literary figures as they spend an hour reflecting on the challenge of their craft, considering the function and experience of the written word in the world today;

    • Going back on A publishing adventure, a “literary jam session” where we will bring together protagonists, authors, editors and literature fans to share an entire publishing adventure. These sessions shine a light on some of the most ambitious and innovative catalogues in contemporary literature;

    • On the front page is a series of discussions on the weighty topics and top trends in the literary year, bringing together popular authors and some literary revelations;

    • Unlikely encounters, surprising and unscripted interactions between two personalities from the world of books, research and culture, whose paths would not normally cross: their shared themes are only revealed at the time of the meeting;

    • Facing historylooks back at major political, cultural and sporting moments from the past to understand how they shaped today’s society, and how and why they have become part of our “contemporary mythology”;

    • Controversy personified is a series of new-genre literary broadcasts to dissect the most controversial texts, issues and authors of the day, with zany and offbeat columnists and the people at the heart of the stories.

    • Over to you - literary quiz, dictation test, etc. two sessions to get everyone testing their knowledge of French language and literature;

    • Les leçons de littérature, deux grandes conférences, littéraires et participatives, menées par deux figures de notre époque, pour témoigner du regard qu’elles portent sur la littérature, sa fonction et son rôle. En partenariat avec la région Ile de France, en écho à son action en direction des lycéens.

    • In What are you reading?, it's an hour for a personality from the contemporary arts scene to share their literary universe, surrounded by their guests — authors, translators, editors, booksellers, etc.
