Careers in Books

  • Career in books

  • Livre Paris welcomes every year the most dynamic professionals of the publishing sector, and highlight all those who make it exist and spread the book throughout the territory and beyond.

The program will, therefore, seek to reflect on the vitality and creativity of the publishing sector in France. Especially with the presence of foreign professionals whose countries are fully integrated into the global market of creation and knowledge.

The program also aims to make the general public discover the "behind the publishing world" by inviting all the actors of the industry to testify on the way they work. All professions will be honored, in the most concrete and interactive way possible.

    • The Debates These look at the key issues and substantive subjects that have marked the literary year, in an attempt to decode the real challenges.

    • Ping-Pong Ping-Pong describes the to-ing and fro-ing within a publishing house as it works towards launching its bestsellers, as selected by the public.

    • Behind the scenes A series of role plays — the machinations within an editorial board, the auction of a set of manuscripts, etc. — revealing what happens behind the scenes and showing the life of a publication.

    • Future possibilities This event looks back at major innovations within the sector (editorial, narrative, financial, etc.) to reflect on how they will shape the literary and editorial landscape of tomorrow.

    • In situ, discover a book trade through a series of scenarios where future professionals present their projects live (publishing house, bookstore etc.) to industry experts who, through their analyzes, allow the public and these book industry new actors understanding the questions that are related to their professions.
