BD, Manga & Comics Stage

  • BD, Manga & Comics stage

  • Entirely dedicated to comics , the BD, Manga & Comics Stage offers a panorama of the richness and diversity of the "9th art".
In 2019, the programming of the comics scene seeks to capture the main features of the genre, while encouraging readers to explore new sectors and inviting them to discover the authors of tomorrow, through different daily meetings :

    • STAR PROFILE A big name in BD (French comics and graphic novels), reveals all in this interview, responding to comments from publishers, authors, booksellers, fans, public figures, close friends, etc. about their work and career path.

    • TALENTS OF TOMORROW Two high-profile newcomers to the BD world exchange thoughts and ideas, analyse their career paths, share experiences and talk about their upcoming projects.

    • SIDE A / SIDE B Two leading figures from the worlds of BD and culture (writers, historians, journalists, etc.) discuss a theme or subject which either unites or divides them.

    • TREND-S A look back, with the authors, over the major graphic and narrative themes which made the news in 2018 and 2019.

    • DEADLINE BD authors and subject specialists come together for an hour to explore how far BD can go in tackling sensitive issues.

    • BD ON STAGE When comics come to life and escape the strip. Musical drawings, drawn interviews and a participative drawing show wrap up the programme of events on the BD Stage.

    • BD ON PROGRAMME History, science and literature are at the core of these meetings for school students, which compare BD authors’ and specialists’ perspectives on a planned topic, to highlight the similarities and differences between their respective approaches.

    • A BD STORY An author takes a story written in class and turns it into a comic strip live on stage, while explaining the transition from writing to drawing.
